Regenerative Solutions

At Sacramento Surgical Arts, we firmly believe in the inherent healing power of the human body, which can be harnessed and amplified. Through the utilization of cutting-edge medical advancements in stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies, we unlock the body's natural regenerative capabilities.

Stem cells, often referred to as the body’s master cells, possess the remarkable ability to morph into a diverse array of specialized cells and effectively repair various tissues. They offer transformative solutions for a myriad of health conditions. Additionally, we proudly offer PRP therapy—a therapeutic modality that accelerates wound healing after dental surgery.

At Sacramento Surgical Arts, our mission extends beyond restoring health; we strive to safeguard it for the future.

What Are Stem Cells?

Stem cells are known for having a natural restorative process, being responsible for the natural healing process in your body. They produce specialized cell types when they regenerate, allowing them to restore and repair bones, cartilage, skin, nerves, muscles, and other tissues. New medical treatments have been developed to treat a wide range of diseases with stem cells—including arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, brain injury, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and more. Stem cells are contained in the umbilical cord blood, your own blood, fat, and teeth.

We work with a company called StemSave. With StemSave, you can protect your family’s future health by securing their stem cells. If you choose to partake, they will send one of their transport kits to us before your procedure(s) here at Sacramento Surgical Arts.

Stem Cells In Teeth

Stem cells found in teeth possess the remarkable ability to differentiate into various types of tissues, making them valuable for treating a diverse range of diseases and injuries. Importantly, these adult stem cells have an exceptionally low risk of rejection, which contributes to their widespread acceptance. Furthermore, their ease of harvest adds to their practicality and accessibility. Overall, the unique characteristics of dental stem cells make them a promising and non-controversial avenue for medical research and treatments.

What Is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy?

Platelet rich plasma therapy (PRP), has become a valuable adjunct in wound healing in dental surgery. Platelets are colorless bodies that are present in the blood. Their sticky surface lets them form clots to stop bleeding. Platelet rich plasma is a substance that is rich in platelets which helps your body heal faster by producing blood clots and concentrating growth factor. To create platelet rich plasma, your surgeon uses roughly 20 to 40 cc of your blood to extract a suitable quantity of platelets.

How Is Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy Used?

Platelet rich plasma can be used by your surgeon for many oral and maxillofacial clinical procedures:

  • Sinus lift
  • Bone grafting
  • Closure of cleft lip & palate
  • Repair of bone defects from the removal of small cysts or teeth
  • Repair of openings between the mouth and sinus cavity caused by disease, injury, or malformation.

What Are The Advantages Of Platelet Rich Plasma?

  • There is no disease transmission because platelet rich plasma is a by-product of the patient’s own blood.
  • Your surgeon can generate platelet rich plasma easily.
  • Using platelet rich plasma is a way to accelerate and enhance the body’s natural wound-healing mechanisms.
  • Platelet rich plasma is cost-effective because the surgeon produces it in the office in less than fifteen minutes in the PRP centrifuge machine, not at a hospital or blood bank.
